Discover what lies behind Museum Brandhorst’s spectacular façade design with its 36,000 colorful ceramic rods. Our overview tour takes you on an exciting tour through the museum and its history. You will learn more about the architecture of Sauerbruch Hutton, who designed the building which opened in 2009, but also about the Brandhorst Collection and how it was founded and developed. A highlight of the visit is the impressive room that was specially designed for the twelve-part “Lepanto” cycle created in 2001 by Cy Twombly (1928-2011).
