Description

SOFT MINIMAL – TEXTILE PAINTING BETWEEN IMAGE AND OBJECT

As little as necessary! Niele Toroni, Richard Tuttle, and André Cadere are renowned artists of Minimalism. For them, it is important to limit themselves to simple forms and colors. The material plays a major role. KAYA (Kerstin Brätsch and Debo Eilers) also work intensively with different materials. They investigate how an originally flat image becomes a spatial object.

In this workshop, you will explore woven materials. By cutting, layering, and connecting fabrics, you will create physical objects in space. You will discover how little is needed to create an image. And also what happens when you expand the image into space.

The workshop will take place in the ticket-free area of the Factory space (lower level) and is run by the artist Diana Galli. Shei is a visual artist with a focus on contemporary textile art, installation, and painting. In workshops, she develops experimental formats in which textiles, color, and space come together. Her work has been shown in institutions such as the Kunstpalais Erlangen, the aqb Budapest, the Lothringer 13 Halle, and various other art associations and galleries. In addition to her own artistic practice, Diana works in art education and realizes projects at museums and independent art spaces.
