Description
Andy Warhol | Seeing Double
The current exhibition presentation shows a selection of Andy Warhol’s works that deal with the theme of repetition. In addition to portraits, these include iconic motifs, for example from the late series inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's ‘Last Supper’ or the ‘Camouflages.’ Warhol’s ‘Round Marilyn’ from 1962 is combined with Sturtevant’s ‘Warhol Black Marilyn’ from 2004. The juxtaposition of the two screen prints opens up a critical perspective on the social staging of beauty and transience.
