More about the artwork

Faux Shop or Fake Shop is simultaneously a spectacular sculptural trompe-l'loeil installation and a showcase of wearable clothing collection by Atelier E.B.

Clothes are carefully arranged with the help of trained window dressers. The shop window is mimicking a ladies’ outfitter, a type of which has almost disappeared from the shopping streets in the cities. Like moving ghosts, the clothes are either pinned to the walls, laid on display or hung dynamically on wires. The collection was inspired by an interest in the friction between the applied and fine arts: „What connects crime fiction and, say, fashion, are structural limitations that shape those creative forms – limitations that fine art does not have.“
